Three Fab Ingredients to a Memorable Girls' Night-In: Paint, Wine & Bob Ross

girlsnight7-1.jpg

Hey sweet friends! I've got the perfect ingredients for you to have a super-fun night with your girlfriends...paint, wine and Bob Ross!! Those 3 components -- combined with the sweet fellowship of special friends -- will make for one awesome party! And with the help of great products from DecoArt, you won't need to look any further!

Here's what we chose for our fun get-together:

DecoArt has a very convenient one-stop-shop called the "Social Artworking Program," and it's designed for anyone wanting to host their own canvas-painting party! This unique website provides all the tools you'll need to having a successful event....You could even use their party planner calculator, which will inform you as to how many supplies you'll need for your party!

The tabletop easels are foldable, adjustable and have rubber slides at the bottom. They're actually very cool and very well made! You can even raise the top of the easel for painting underneath your canvas! Let's also take a look at all those pretty acrylics....I chose 7 colors for each guest, but there are actually 27 different colors to choose from with DecoArt's online shop. They're fast-drying, which is a great bonus! And lastly, those paint brushes were awesome. Each guest received a pack of five, long-handled brushes: 3/4" flat, #2 round, #6, #8, #12 brights. We were very pleased with everything!

On another note, let me tell you about my sweet friends....Meradith, Lydia, Dara Lynn and Jennifer. They are precious!

About once a year (or at least we shoot for once a year!), we get together and enjoy yummy food, laugh about the old times, and encourage each other with life. We go way back....All of us went to the same Christian school during our middle/high school years. We rode the bus together every day (which was about an hour's drive one way), so we got to know each other really well! We made lots of special memories on that bus. Lol. We also were on the flag corps together during those years...Ohhhh, the stories we could tell. 😍 Additionally, a few of us homeschooled in high school together, and two of us were even in the same kindergarten class. Some of us were in each other's weddings, too! As we got older and grew closer together, we ended up nicknaming our group "Beloved." So whenever I'm talking about the girls to my immediate or extended family, I always refer to them as "Beloved." My family knows exactly who I'm talking about, and I love it! We've made wonderful memories together through the years!

A little about Bob Ross....Has anyone ever heard of him?!? I can honestly say that I'd never heard the name at all until a few months ago. (Evidently, I've been living under a rock, because everyone else knew who Bob Ross was except for mwah. 🙈 I think I need to get out more.) Anyways, a dear friend of mine, Betsy, mentioned that her daughter recently hosted a Bob Ross paint party with some girlfriends of hers, and the whole idea seemed like tons of fun!

This Bob Ross guy....He's an awesome painter from the 90s (maybe even the 80s??) and has TONS of DIY paint videos on YouTube. When it came to choosing which video to use for the party, my kiddos and I spent a Sunday afternoon testing different videos and learning how to paint a variety of nature scenes, such as meadows, creeks, and mountains. I'm here to tell you that he can make even the most inexperienced person become a "professional" artist! It's pretty amazing, actually. One of my favorite quotes from Mr. Ross is...."There are no mistakes, only happy accidents!"

There were lots of great recordings to choose from, but we ended up deciding on "Winding Stream." Some of our other favorites are "Lake at the Ridge" and "Fisherman's Trail." But really, you'll find that there are tons of entertaining and inspiring videos to watch. You'll also notice that you'll want to keep painting for hours, because they're so much fun!

Since the girls came earlier that evening, we snacked on yummy finger foods and enjoyed delicious wine during the entire party. Speaking of wine, have y'all ever tasted Blueberry Red Wine? It's SO good, and you've got to especially test out the blueberry wine from Fox's Vineyards and Winery. They're a local winery here in Social Circle, GA, and their particular recipe is beyond amazing!!

Anyways, we really enjoyed painting our masterpieces! It was so relaxing, and we all had a blast (or at least I hope everyone did! ❤️)!

We decided to get a final pic at the end of our party to showcase our lovely paintings! My sweet daughter snapped this pic for us around 10:15 that night!

So, if you're trying to think of something fun and creative to do for your girls' night-in, I'd highly recommend watching a Bob Ross video, along with serving some of your favorite wine and using DecoArt's fab products!! Have y'all ever hosted a paint party or ever been to one before? If so, what was your favorite part of the whole event? Was it your friends, the art supplies, the food...or all 3?? I'd love to hear about it! Comment below, or stop by InstagramFacebook and Pinterest! Thanks again for stopping by today….I love and appreciate all of you!!
