I'm so excited to share with you more pics of our freshly-painted home!  For the past several years (yes, YEARS!!), I have begged my hubby to paint our walls white, but because of my bad back, I couldn't do it myself.  But FINALLY, he caved this past Fall and painted our walls a fresh, bright white.  Didn't he do a great job?!  It looks beautiful!  We have white sofas, white cabinets and white drapes, and I still love it.  And it gives the perfect backdrop for the pops of red I used in our Christmas decor this year, which I shared about in our Holiday Home Tour 2016.

So, today I'd like to share with you how our kitchen looks with a few touches of Christmas...farmhouse style.

Our Christmas decor this year is focused on a woodsy or lumberjack look, so that means incorporating my old, wood crates, some cozy plaid and faux fur fabrics, rustic taxidermy, old books, etc.  Anyone can do this!

This view of our house is waaay different than it used to be.  You ought to see the difference!  (Please click here for our kitchen renovation.)

In the pics above and below, you'll see some farmhouse touches that look beautiful in even a cookie-cutter home, such as ours!  Do you see that white spice rack?  When I brought it home from the thrift store, my new-to-me spice rack was seriously blah and lacked some excitement...But now that I've fixed it up, it's a cheerful shelf that holds some fun, seasonal decor.  Click here to see the before and after, plus learn a few helpful tips.

The moss, paper-mache taxidermy is another diy project that anyone can make!  I haven't written up the tutorial yet, but it's coming soon!  And most of the other accessories on that spice rack are from various thrift stores and yard sales.  (Btw, speaking of yard sales, we're getting closer and closer to Spring, which means that everyone will be "Spring cleaning," which means that yard saling season is just around the corner.  Whoop whoop!!!)

The grainsack napkins, the Pepsi crate, some old rolling pins and wooden spoons, the vintage cookbooks, the rusty scale....aaahhhh.  I love finding beautiful, old accessories, such as these, for just pennies on the dollar!

In the pic below, I'm standing in the kitchen and looking into our dining room.  Our built-in china hutch is something we put in ourselves.  I don't know if you can see it or not, but the rusty plate rack that's above the word "JOY" is a very fun project that I did this past Spring.  It's actually a brand-new chicken feeder that I turned into an "aged" plate rack!  If you'd like to learn how I did it, click this link here. ;)

Now, I can't take credit for these beautifully-styled shelves in the pics below.  My sweet daughter styled the bottom two shelves herself.  I might have tweaked just a couple of things, but I'm so proud of her and the creativity she's been gifted with!

I'm telling you...Don't buy old books at antiques stores, unless they're priced right!  You can find old books, like the ones below, at yard sales and thrift stores for about 25-50 cents each!

This log cabin is so cute, isn't it?!  My sweet mama gave it to me, and I dressed it up a bit to make it look like a cabin in the woods, which is perfect for our lumberjack/woodsy Christmas decor.  I added the string lights (came from the dollar section at Target), the greenery and bottle-brush trees and all the other accessories to make the cabin look Christmas-ey.  The "snow" is just some polyfill that I pulled apart and randomly placed on the roof and porch of this little cabin.  Of course, I had to add some mini deer, a toy truck and then a tree to the back of the truck.

A fun tradition our family likes to do every Christmas season is to have a hot chocolate bar on the ready.  If you'd like to read all about that, please click this link. ;)

Well, that's it!  What do you think about our farmhouse kitchen decorated for Christmas?  I'd love to hear about it!  Comment below, or stop by and say hey on Pinterest, Instagram, TwitterHomeTalk and Facebook.  That would just make my day!
