Huge Barn Sale at Gorgeous Farm, Part 1!!!
Hey sweet friends! Before we begin, I wanted to remind you to stop by and say hey on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. I always love to hear from my sweet readers, and that's where you'll find most of our updates on the farmhouse build each week!
*****************************************************************
I have some exciting news! There's an amazing, antique sale coming up soon, and I want to tell you all about it! And because this sale is chock full of antique pieces, I decided to turn this post into two parts! Welcome to part 1!
On a beautiful farm, with rolling hills, sits a gorgeous, old building that was once a thriving general store back in the 1800s. Surrounding this super-cool and super-old country store are some rustic barns, beautiful farm land and really old railroad tracks! Does this description sound exciting or what?! This setting provides the perfect backdrop for Greg and Kathie Wyatt's amazing sale that happens twice a year! I shopped this sale for the very first time last December, and it was so good that I just HAD to tell all of you about it, because it's happening again soon!
If you're an antique lover like myself, then you don't want to miss this exciting sale in May. Read on to learn more! The one-of-a-kind finds at this barn sale are amazing, and the prices are even sweeter! Here's what you have to look forward to when shopping at this beautiful place...
The kids swung on this fun tire swing while my husband and I shopped til we dropped! In the pic below, my sweetie is carrying one of the beautiful, antique, 9-foot doors we found!!
When you make it to this awesome sale, you'll quickly learn that Greg and Kathie have a great eye for architectural salvage! There are lots of old doors and mantels spread throughout the farm...
They even have the old galvanized trash cans (see pic above) that I like to use as planters for my porch! (Click here for that post.)
And the doors/mantels come in all shapes and sizes! And of course, the chippiness is perfection!
Across the dirt road is the really cool building that was once a general store, and it houses LOTS of fun pieces for your home. If you're not there to shop, at least come just to check out this beautiful, old store!
As I mentioned earlier, this rustic, old building is from the 1800s! Wait til you see what's inside...
The original beadboard that covers the walls and ceiling is all still in tact, and the original SHELVING is still there, too! It's just too gorgeous....I can't get over it!!
Did I mention that everything in this store is for sale?!
Old scales, license tags, signs, cabinets, cash registers, toy trucks, fans....You name it, they've got it! One of a kind and rare pieces!
Look closely at even the top shelves...all those old fans and lanterns!
This old typewriter is one of the finds we took home with us! I've been searching for one of these for a very long time, and Greg's price on this beauty was amazing! I can't wait to put this piece on display in our farmhouse!
These doors in the pic below actually used to be the entry doors for the general store! They're 9 feet tall, too!
The kids LOVED walking around the general store and getting a history lesson! ;)
Now that I've shown y'all the store, let's take a look at barn #1. This view is what I love to see...rows and rows AND ROWS of treasures! I can assure you there are walking paths throughout this barn, but be sure to wear some comfy gym shoes....Because you'll want to be able to dig and find those gems that were "reserved" just for you! ;)
This spot is where you'll find lots of industrial pieces, such as old gas pump signs, metal hardware, salvaged farm tools!
And all those rows of old chairs...I can't even! Utter gorgeousness!
See what I mean by having to split this post into 2 separate parts?! And I've only touched the surface....There's so much more to show y'all! Now that I've introduced the fantastic sale to you guys, it's time to share the specifics for that so you can't miss!
